Being in the market for a deep fryer is a wise choice because foods cooked in the deep fryer taste much better and have a more tender texture than foods cooked in the oven. However you don’t want to just go out and buy one where the price looks right. There are several other factors to consider, so let’s look at a few key steps on how to choose a deep fryer.

1. Choose a deep fryer that is within your price range.

There are all sorts of deep fryers at different sizes with a varying array of features at different price points. Prices can fall anywhere in between $30 and $1500, so you can be sure to find one that is in your budget.

Use online sites like Amazon or Google Product search to find hundreds of different fryers, and you can sort those products by price. Then it’s just a matter of simply analyzing the fryers within your price range and choosing the one that checks out the best.

2. Choose the appropriate size for your fryer based on the foods you plan of frying.

Will you be frying a thirty pound turkey for Thanksgiving? If so you will need a larger fryer, but if you plan on just frying small items like chicken wings and fried pastries, a smaller fryer will work just fine.

If you plan on using it for big tailgate parties prior to the ballgame, a larger portable deep fryer will sure come in handy, but you will need a higher budget as these can cost upwards of a thousand dollars.

3. Make sure you choose one with good features that make deep frying easier and more enjoyable.

Ideally, the fryer you go with should have important features like:

• An immersion heating element, which heats up the oil more rapidly than bottom heating elements

• A removable oil reservoir, which makes cleanup a whole lot quicker

• Temperature control, so you can fine tune the frying process according to what cooking temperatures are called for

• At least a one year warranty to ensure quality and protect you against product defects

4. Look at the existing customer feedback for the deep fryers you are considering buying.

Again you can use sites like Amazon to see which products are the highest rated and which ones to avoid. Amazon is great because you can sort products based on average customer review, and being the largest online shopping site they have a ton of reviews here.

Customers rate the fryers from one to five stars, and you can check out reviews for each star rating. This allows you to see the good points and bad points for the fryers you are considering.
